Objectives
The objectives of the workshop are to assess the status of research into cloud and aerosol profiling using active measurement systems, also in combination with passive observations, and to assess ways that data from such systems can be used to improve our understanding of the roles of clouds and aerosols in the hydro-radiative cycle. A workshop report shall be produced with recommendations in support of the continued use of active-passive satellite systems for these research areas in atmospheric science.
The workshop furthermore serves as the annual CloudSat-CALIPSO joint science team meeting.
The workshop is open to scientists working in the respective science areas.
